Augusta Motor Company is accelerating into the future as it officially unveiled its newly redeveloped showroom yesterday, an upgrade that promises to transform the customer experience and reinforce the dealership’s long-standing commitment to the Port Augusta community.
A fixture in the region for more than 30 years, the dealership’s revitalisation is a strategic investment in modern facilities, next-generation automotive technology, and long-term service capacity for a fast-evolving industry.
One SMG Chief Executive Officer, Linh Bui, said the motivation behind the project was straightforward: to create a dealership that reflects the future of mobility as well as the expectations of today’s customers.
“Port Augusta deserves a modern, future-ready dealership that reflects the quality of service we aim to deliver,” Mr Bui said. “This redevelopment is about preparing the site for the next generation of customers and vehicles.”
The new showroom has been carefully designed with customer experience at its core. Visitors can expect a welcoming, contemporary environment that makes browsing more intuitive and enjoyable. Enhanced waiting areas, improved accessibility, and streamlined service processes all contribute to a smoother, faster, and more convenient experience.
“The goal is to make every interaction—from enquiries to servicing—easier for our customers,” Mr Bui said.
The redevelopment is also a tribute to the community that has supported Augusta Motor Co for generations.
“To our long-time customers, this development is a ‘thank you’,” Mr Bui added. “While the site may look different, our commitment to genuine, local, relationship-driven service will never change.”
The Mayor of the City of Port Augusta, Linley Shine, also praised the redevelopment as a significant milestone for the region.
“It’s a real vote of confidence in our town and our role as a major service hub for the Upper Spencer Gulf region and importantly the northern and outback areas of SA,” Ms Shine said.
She also highlighted the positive impact the project will have on the local workforce.
“It is great to see that there will be new roles and apprenticeships that will benefit local families and the wider region, keeping opportunities right here in Port Augusta.”
Looking ahead, the Mayor expressed enthusiasm for the economic ripple effects the redevelopment will create.
“I’m excited to see the flow-on benefits—more jobs, more activity, and more confidence in our regional economy.”
The redevelopment has also been warmly welcomed by manufacturer partners including Ford, Kia, MG Motor, and Mitsubishi, each highlighting the project’s alignment with their brand values and commitment to regional customers.
